What F.A.S.C. is, how it's built, and who runs it.
The Bit
F.A.S.C. stands for Fully Automated Server Communism — a household homelab dressed up as a Soviet-propaganda "Collective," mixed with a bit of space-age retrofuturism — codenamed services, constructivist colors, heroic poster copy. It's an aesthetic bit for a hobby project, as well as a political statement. Everything behind these codenames is real, self-hosted software, run on real hardware, in a real house.
How It's Built
- Hardware: self-hosted on personal servers at home — no cloud rental, no third-party host.
- Exposure: a Cloudflare Tunnel, so nothing is port-forwarded straight to the internet.
- Identity: Authentik provides single sign-on across every app on this site.
- This site: built on Saltcorn, a no-code app platform.
- Orchestration: every service runs in Docker, managed through DockHand.
Who Runs It
Built, deployed, and maintained by hand by one household, one weekend project at a time — not a company, not a startup, just people who like running their own stuff.
